LOCATION
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is on the largest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago, approximately 800km north of Maputo(the capital of Mozambique). The island - carefully protected as a Nature Reserve Park - is a beautiful and unspoilt destination, characterized by its wild fauna, turquoise sea and idyllic beaches. The Lodge offers a unique combination of beauty, comfort and relaxation that makes it the perfect spot for nature lovers, divers, fishermen and water sport enthusiasts.

TRANSFERS
Flights from Maputo or Johannesburg to Vilanculos are available, followed by daily 30-minute shuttle transfers from Vilanculos to Bazaruto Island. A transfer from the airstrip to the lodge takes an approximate 5-minute drive covering a distance of 1.5km.

ROOMS
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge offers 40 “A-frame” thatched bungalows comprising: 13 standard rooms of which one is a family room, 22 superior rooms and 5 family rooms, set amongst tropical gardens wit magnificent views. Every bungalow accommodates double or single occupancy and is equipped with:
    • Air conditioning and ceiling fan
    • Private bathroom with enclosed outdoor shower
    • All rooms equipped with tea/coffee making facilities

MEALS
Full-board is compulsory all year round. Nature Reserve Park Fee - 200,00 Meticais per person.

RESTAURANT
The Lodge has one main restaurant, and every evening African drums announce dinner. For lunch, a light meal can be served at the pool, or a picnic prepared for the beach. The restaurant offers an exotic buffet or ŕ la carté menu.

Currency - Visa and MasterCard only
Cheques - Personal, foreign and traveller’s and or personal cheques are NOT accepted.
Laundry - The Lodge provides this service at a charge.
Telephone - There are no phones in the rooms - telephone facilities are available at the main Lodge.
Television - There are televisions in the rooms.
Health - Anti-malaria precautions should be commenced prior to arrival in the area. Clients should consult their doctor for specific advice.
Park Laws - The Island is carefully protected as a Nature Reserve Park and it is against the law to remove fish, shells, crustaceans, coral or any other form of nature off the island.
