The Resort is equipped with a full back-up generator. Should the power go out for any reason, the generator will ensure full power to the entire Resort.

ACTIVITIES

Fishing
A range of fishing charters are available in the area, including full or half-day deep sea fishing excursions, night fishing excursions, spear fishing safaris, adventure game fishing safaris or, for those looking for a little more adventure, the Ocean Extreme Adventure Combo, offering a speed and adrenaline rush powered by 400 horses!

Dolphin viewing
The waters of the Mozambican coastline are home to the bottlenose dolphin, and wild dolphin interactions are a firm favourite with everyone visiting the Resort. All dolphin encounters follow a strict code of conduct, allowing for dolphin friendly, non-intrusive viewing on the dolphins terms. No feeding, forcing or coaxing is permitted. It’s just you and the dolphins, face-to-face in open water.

Scuba diving
Whether a novice, or an advanced diver, there are a number of operators in the area who can assist in showing you the splendor of the Mozambican waters. Single dives or dive packages are available, and all gear can be rented.

Our wedding package caters for up to 120 guests, and offers the options of a beach or garden wedding, coupled with unique luxury log cabin accommodation for your guests and a host of outdoor activities, including water sports and quad biking. Coco Rico Resort is truly a unique and remarkable exotic destination, and our dedicated on-site team will be with you every step of the way as you plan your big day!

Coco Rico Resort Wedding Package
Venue Hire: R3 000.00 (weekday) R5 000.00 (weekend)
The main reception venue can be hired until midnight (24h00), with the last round being called at 11:30pm. An additional surcharge of R800.00 will be charged for every hour, or part thereof after midnight, to cover the overheads of the venue, bar and staff costs.

Kindly note that should your wedding party occupy more than 10 (ten) units at the Resort, the bridal couple shall be given the Honeymoon Suite free of charge on the night of the wedding.

CORPORATE EVENTS

If you’re looking for somewhere completely different for your next conference or team build that will have your team rearing to go, then look no further than Coco Rico Resort.

The Resort is the ideal venue for small conferences and team building activities, as the Resort offers the best of both worlds, with conferencing facilities available for up to 60 delegates, complete with meeting room facilities and plasma screens for presentations. The Resort also boasts a large Boma which is ideal for your opening or closing function, and can arrange for events to take place on the beach.

Team building activities can easily be arranged in the area on your behalf, whether a land or water based concept, and will be sure to make this event your best yet.

TRAVELLING TO MOZAMBIQUE

Kindly note the following aspects in order to ensure a smooth trip to Mozambique.

1.If you are South African or SADC region citizen, you will not require a visa for Mozambique.
Foreigners will require a visa, which can be purchased at the border for a fee approximately of R750.00 or so. Subject to change

2.If you intend to bring your vehicle over the Border, you will require the following:

Vehicle license papers
Letter from the financer of your vehicle (bank or other)
Proof of insurance. We suggest that you take out third party insurance (approximate cost is R150.00)
Please note that only 4 x 4 vehicles will be able to drive the route to the Resort, as there are no tarred roads, only sand.

There is a secure parking area on the South African border side, where you will be able to leave your vehicle for a charge of R35 per day.
Transfers from the border can be arranged (R75 per person one way). A trailer can also be arranged for a fee of from about R200.00 (subject to change). Kindly discuss your travel requirements with our wedding coordinator, who will gladly assist with all arrangements.

3.South African Rands are an acceptable form of payment in Mozambique, or you can use the local currency; Meticas. The Mozambique currency rate fluctuates, so please ensure that you are aware of this. ATM’s are available near the Resort, however only dispense Meticas so should you require Rands, we suggest that you draw money from Kosi Bay / Manguzi (the last town) before coming over the border.

4.There are limited grocery shopping and butchery options available in Ponta Do Ouro, and we therefore suggest that if you are planning on self-catering, that you bring much of what you will need with you. We suggest that all meat be vacuum packed. Please note that no food can be taken back over the border, and will be confiscated.

5.No animals are permitted over the border.

6.Items are permitted to be taken over the border, however the following limits apply:

NO BEER IS ALLOWED AND WILL BE TAX
Alcoholic Drinks: 1 liters of spirits and 2.25 liter of wine
Perfumes: 50ml perfumes
Pharmaceutical products: Quantity considered reasonable for personal consumption
Other goods: Up to a value of R2000 to R3000 (all subject to change)
120% will be charged on any items over this limit. The border authorities are aware of the prices of liquor, and hence you will not be able to negotiate the amount.

Please DO NOT DRINK on the border, as this may result in you being denied entry!
